Art Symposium

Guests learned about the moving stories behind the commissioned art at Patriot Plaza by meeting the renowned artists who brought the vision of service and sacrifice to life as well as the Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalists and subjects of the emotional photographs featured throughout the ceremonial amphitheater.

The Art Symposium featured a trio of events at Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, on November 14, 2014:

• Artist Panel — Artists Larry Kirkland, Ellen Driscoll, Ann Hirsch, and Pablo Eduardo participated in a panel to reflect on their chosen crafts and contributions to Patriot Plaza.
• Photojournalism Panel — The award-winning civilian and military photographers whose work is featured in Patriot Plaza's art installations discussed the process of documenting combat and the military experience.
• Breakout Photography Sessions — Patriot Plaza's photographers shared their knowledge and experience with guests in an intimate setting.
