During this year’s fourth annual Suncoast Remake Learning Days, more than 45,900 people attended 378 interactive, hands-on learning events throughout our region. This 2025 learning festival for youth of all ages and their families concluded on May 3 after attracting its largest turnout to date over 15 days.

Suncoast Remake Learning Days was a success with more than 36,500 attendees! This multi-venue open house celebrated the joy of adults and children learning side by side. Suncoast Remake Learning Days, presented by the Suncoast Campaign for Grade-Level Reading with support from The Patterson Foundation, consisted of more than 300 events over 15 days hosted by organizations, including schools, museums, libraries, after-school organizations, early child care centers, universities, media outlets, and more.

The When You Wonder, You’re Learning Book Circle Project kicked off September 13 and 14 with a visit to the Suncoast by co-author Ryan Rydzewski, and his enthusiasm set the stage for our region’s book circle adventure. When You Wonder, You’re Learning reveals this never-before-seen side of America’s favorite neighbor, exploring how Rogers nurtured the “tools for learning” now deemed essential for school, work, and life.

This joyous and inspirational morning included keynote speaker, Ralph Smith, Managing Director of the national Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, video presentations of the work happening in Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee, and Sarasota counties, and opportunities for attendees to affirm their commitment to the children and families in the region.

The Suncoast Campaign and the Laundry Project assembled a Pop-Up Neighbor event in Charlotte County. There were snacks, drinks, and a colorful book nook with books the children could take home to add to their home libraries. Community partners from United Way of Charlotte County, the Health Department, Charlotte County Libraries & History, Kids Thrive!, and the Sheriff’s Office spent the morning sharing their expertise and hearts with the laundromat patrons.
