Hannah Saeger Karnei joined The Duke Endowment as a Grants Analyst in 2025. She previously served as the Strategic Initiatives Coordinator at the Arras Foundation in Lancaster, SC. Prior to being in South Carolina, Hannah was Inaugural Fellow and Special Projects Manager at The Patterson Foundation in Sarasota, FL. She holds a master’s degree in Philanthropic Studies from Indiana University and a bachelor’s degree in Human Development from Virginia Tech.

Before pursuing a career in philanthropy, Hannah worked for several years in marketing for Washington, DC-based technology companies. Hannah, her husband Kyle, and their children Quinn and Sean live in Lancaster.
