You may or may not know, but I'm on an exciting journey to earn my master's in Philanthropic Studies from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, set to graduate in 2026. Just before each new class starts, I'm filled with excitement. Then, somewhere in the middle, doubt creeps in, and I wonder if I'm in over my head. But by the end, I'm consistently blown away by how much I've learned and how far I've come.

I had a conversation about learning with someone who helped me put it into perspective: "The more you learn, the dumber you feel until you eventually get it. Once you understand it, you keep growing and practicing, and before you know it, people are coming to you for advice. It's like a U-curve."

That insight was a game-changer—it made me realize that doubt is just part of the process, and it's okay.

Learning technology is a lot like this. TPF's Tech Excellence supports staff and consultants with ongoing tech training and support. The world of technology is constantly evolving, and as TPF grows, so must we. If you feel like you're at the bottom of the U-curve with technology, don't worry, the tech coaches are there to help you get on the upward trajectory.

When it comes to big goals and the end game, it can sometimes feel overwhelming. But if we break it down and ask ourselves, "What's the next smallest step we can take today to move closer to our goals?" and focus on that, suddenly, the big picture doesn't feel so scary.

Whether you're looking to master one of the interfaces offered in Tech Excellence or just want to polish your skills, take the leap. Give yourself permission to get excited, embrace a little uncertainty, and experience the thrill of learning something new. The journey might feel like a U-curve, but the climb is worth it!
