The Patterson Foundation Supports 2011 Block by Block: Community News Summit

The Patterson Foundation New Media Journalism Initiative will participate in the 2011 Block by Block: Community News Summit in Chicago Sept. 29 – Oct. 1.  

Supported in part by The Patterson Foundation, the summit is a gathering of local online community news entrepreneurs who are involved in the exploration of new ways to create sustainable models for niche and super-local news sites.

The Patterson Foundation participated in the first Block by Block summit in 2010. This year, the summit will focus on past and new participants’ requests, including revenue building and community engagement sessions. New Media Journalism Initiative Manager Janet Coats will be the moderator for several sessions.
