The Patterson Foundation Addresses Congressional Philanthropy Caucus
Posted on March 04, 2014 by The Patterson FoundationDebra Jacobs, president and CEO of The Patterson Foundation, will speak on a four-person panel of foundation leaders from across the country March 6 during a Congressional Philanthropy Caucus briefing in Washington, D.C.
The panel is part of the program Understanding the Role of American Philanthropy, an initiative of the Council on Foundations to increase awareness of the many roles of American philanthropy in communities across the country. It provides Congress and their staff members with a way to engage with the philanthropic sector, including the ways in which philanthropy works both independently and in collaboration with states and the federal government.
This invitation comes at a time when The Patterson Foundation has much to share about its experiences working with the National Cemetery Administration on the first-of-a-kind public-private partnership to design, build and donate Patriot Plaza, the ceremonial amphitheater at Sarasota National Cemetery.
Jacobs said she hopes to demonstrate how philanthropy can bring imaginative excellence to government collaborations.
