Supporting what's special about Season of Sharing

Supporting what's special about Season of Sharing

Posted on November 20, 2012 by Debra Jacobs, president and CEO of The Patterson Foundation

We're entering into our fifth year of supporting Season of Sharing. The campaign, founded by the Sarasota Herald-Tribune in 2000 and administered by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, helps people on the verge of homelessness in our four-county region.

Year after year, what impresses us the most?

Above and beyond how this region steps up each and every year with generosity that knows no bounds, is the unprecedented collaboration among our region's media outlets. All have seen their share of change this past year, yet they are all back and committed to supporting the message that is the Season of Sharing. It's because of this spirit of partnership and collaboration that we are once again issuing a $500,000 dollar-for-dollar match for all new or increased donations made to Season of Sharing.

First-time donor? Your dollars will be doubled.

Decided to increase your donation this year? Any increase is matched.

Was the last time you donated in 2010, but you find yourself in the position to help others this year? You'll be matched. (If there is a gap BETWEEN YEARS in your donations, we count the next time you donate as "new" dollars.)

Thanks to the Herald-Tribune Media Group, Bradenton Herald, Bright House, Clear Channel, Comcast, SNN 6, Sarasota Magazine/Biz941, Sun Media Group, The Observer Group, WWSB ABC7, and the One to One Group for making us proud to call the Sarasota region our home.

Here’s to another stellar year of inspiring generosity and helping our community’s most vulnerable families.
