Round Two! Aging in Paradise’s Second Year of AMP

Our 2nd year of NCOA’s Aging Mastery Program® at Aging in Paradise Resource Center is halfway through and, just like last year, it has reinforced in me the knowledge that we are NEVER too old to learn.
Whether the topic is injury prevention, nutrition, or any other, our professional presenters have received our highest rating from participants. The group is so committed that I have received three phone calls when a participant was sick or out of town, asking if they can send their spouse or friend to take notes for them! After last week’s class, a woman came into my office just to share with me, “I have never attended anything with such high-quality material.” She said that this AMP series should be required for all seniors -- I agree completely!
We had Dr. Edlund, Florida’s highest rated sleep doctor, teach us valuable information about the effects of sleeping on our overall health. Dr. Batsell, an expert on nutrition and hydration, suggested easy, practical changes. I took her advice, and I’m already feeling the difference!
Cindy Tanner, RN, BS, who worked for 37 years as a trauma nurse, led a phenomenal program on injury prevention. Our two experts on physical movement and meditation and yoga were fabulous –- everyone in the group is doing their stretches, and many are meditating daily.
I can’t thank The Patterson Foundation enough for introducing this program to us. It is literally changing people’s lives.
