Remake Learning Day Inspires Community Connections on 13th Avenue Dream Center
Posted on May 23, 2026 by Lyndsey Smith, consultant with The Patterson FoundationFamilies gathered at the 13th Avenue Dream Center for an engaging and impactful Suncoast Remake Learning Days event that brought together students, parents, and community members to explore side by side.
A highlight of the day was a thoughtful discussion led by Ericia Henry, former Fellow at The Patterson Foundation. She connected with students by asking meaningful questions about their access to technology at home, what they would like to see in their technology center, and even sparked curiosity by asking if they knew what a desktop computer was. These conversations provided valuable insight into students’ experiences and needs.
TPF Consultants Sandra Vega- Picchietti and Lyndsey Smith also engaged with parents, collecting feedback on what matters most to families when it comes to technology access and how the center can better support their children. This work builds on The Patterson Foundation’s continued commitment to listening and learning first. Through an ongoing survey, the team is gathering meaningful input from community members and offering opportunities for follow-up conversations to better understand their needs and aspirations.
The event wasn’t just informative, it was fun, too. Children were invited to take home a free book, enjoy tasty snacks, and pick out a new pair of sunglasses. Families who participated in the technology questionnaire were also thanked with a gift card in appreciation of their time and input.
Overall, the event created a welcoming space for meaningful dialogue, and we hope to continue to hear from you as we strengthen connections and inform future efforts that support families and learners across the community.
In addition to meaningful dialogue, the event created a fun and welcoming atmosphere. Children received free books, snacks, and sunglasses, while families who completed the technology questionnaire were thanked with a gift card for their time and input.
For those who couldn’t attend, there is still an opportunity to share your voice. The survey remains open, and community feedback will continue to shape how technology resources and support are developed moving forward.
