All is Calm: In Concert at Patriot Plaza This Holiday Season
Posted on November 11, 2025 by The Patterson FoundationIn honor of Veterans Day, The Patterson Foundation is proud to announce an unforgettable experience sharing powerful reminders of peace, compassion, and humanity coming to Patriot Plaza this holiday season.
Presented through a collaboration between The Patterson Foundation and Asolo Repertory Theatre, All is Calm: In Concert at Patriot Plaza will feature highlights from Asolo Rep's acclaimed production of All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914. Written and directed by Asolo Rep Producing Artistic Director Peter Rothstein, All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 is an a cappella musical based on firsthand accounts of the unofficial ceasefire that took place along the Western Front of World War I during Christmas in 1914, when soldiers from opposing sides laid down their arms to sing together, exchange gifts, and bury the dead.
“The heroes of the story of the Christmas Truce were the foot soldiers, the lowest of the ranks, and yet their names never appeared in any history books. This is one of the reasons why I chose to anchor the play with their actual words, taken from letters, journals, and poetry,” stated Peter Rothstein. “We are deeply honored to share this work at Patriot Plaza in partnership with The Patterson Foundation, and in tribute to those who serve.”
Located in the heart of Sarasota National Cemetery, Patriot Plaza is a 2,800-seat ceremonial amphitheater designed to honor the service and sacrifice of America’s veterans and military families, featuring artwork illustrating their experiences across generations. The Patterson Foundation fully funded the $12 million design and construction of Patriot Plaza to honor veterans, inspire patriotism, and embrace freedom through a partnership with the National Cemetery Administration — the first collaboration between private philanthropy and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs on an enhancement of this magnitude at a national cemetery.
“With a passion for collaboration to present experiences for all ages, Patriot Plaza is ideal for sharing stories of heroism, hardship, and humanity,” said Debra Jacobs, president and CEO of The Patterson Foundation. “This free concert provides a one-time opportunity for all to unite through remembrance and reflection in an iconic setting.”
All is Calm: In Concert at Patriot Plaza takes place Saturday, Dec. 20, at 3 p.m. Additional concert performers honoring the service and sacrifice of our veterans and military families will be announced prior to the event.
The event is free to attend through support from The Patterson Foundation. Registration is required, and seating is limited. Reserve your seat at PatriotPlazaConcert.org.
