The Giving Partner eliminates the guesswork

It is no secret that we live in an era of information overload. We are able to search any organization and collect an abundance of data through our phones or computers. How can we trust the information we research? Is it accurate? Does it have all of the pertinent information we seek?

With the leadership of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, The Patterson Foundation - along with a number of trusted philanthropic organizations in our region -- supported bringing The Giving Partner to our community to strengthen every person's ability to be generous.

The Giving Partner is an online platform that provides the opportunity for local nonprofits to market themselves through transparency. It highlights organizations serving Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee and Sarasota counties. This year, almost 550 charitable organizations have uploaded the following:

• 501(C)3 organization’s legal name and core mission

• Programmatic impact

• Governance

• Management

• Financials

• Downloadable full nonprofit profile

• Downloadable summary nonprofit profile

Content is continually updated throughout the year so citizens and businesses can find information at any time - day and night. The Giving Partner includes a search feature for individuals to learn about specific nonprofits - a key tool for the 24-hour Giving Challenge. With the “Donate Now” button, donors can easily support any organization.

The Patterson Foundation looks to its values as its own North Star, and in the case of The Giving Partner, recognized an opportunity for financial thrivability using technology to inspire philanthropy and amplify the impact of generosity.
