Announcing the Fueling Dynamic Fundraising Consulting Cohort

Announcing the Fueling Dynamic Fundraising Consulting Cohort

Posted on February 14, 2024 by Alexa Carr, TPF Fellow 2023/24
Fueling Dynamic Fundraising (FDF), an initiative of The Patterson Foundation (TPF), seeks to strengthen nonprofits to create and execute strong fundraising programs. Through TPF's partnership with the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and The Fund Raising School (TFRS), local nonprofits received in-person training from TFRS faculty, fully funded by The Patterson Foundation. There were two classes: Principles & Techniques of Fundraising and Fundraising for Small Nonprofits. During these courses, over 70 individuals from 55 organizations learned a wide variety of topics in fundraising, from cases for support to fundraising ethics to the fundraising cycle.

After successfully completing the fundraising courses, organizations had the opportunity to request follow-up consulting. Among many incredible requests, we are excited to announce the six organizations selected from the two courses.

  • Booker Promise seeks to provide students with the essential skills and resources needed to earn a college degree or technical certification, enabling them to successfully participate in a workforce that is widely diverse and highly skilled.
  • CreArte Latino Cultural Center is a channel for cultural exchange between LatinX/Hispanics and the community at large through the arts, education, and service.
  • Friends of Myakka River exists to support Myakka River State Park and the Wild and Scenic Myakka River. They are protecting and sharing Myakka's Magic to benefit future generations and our own.
  • WSLR + Fogartyville is a center for creative expression and community engagement that amplifies the voices of our diverse community and promotes peace, sustainability, democracy, and economic and social justice.

TPF believes in the power of strengthening the efforts of people, organizations, and communities through philanthropy. With this consulting phase of Fueling Dynamic Fundraising, TPF is creating opportunities for nonprofit organizations to improve their fundraising practices because stronger fundraising leads to increased mission impact.

We appreciate the dedication of the staff, board members, and volunteers who invest in our community through service with nonprofit organizations.

We look forward to sharing more about the cohort and consulting process as it progresses through the year. Stay tuned for more updates about upcoming FDF programming!
