One of The Patterson Foundation’s (TPF) newest offerings under the Nonprofit Thrivability umbrella, Fueling Dynamic Fundraising (FDF), offers Suncoast region nonprofits the chance to develop and execute a strong fundraising program. Through a partnership with The Fund Raising School (TFRS) at Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, an organization’s CEO/ED, board members, and staff participate in a six-week course centered on the board’s engagement in fundraising.

Recently, TPF started the engines on FDF Cohort #2. Nonprofits who had previously completed one of TPF’s Nonprofit Thrivability offerings (Margin and Mission Ignition or Advancing Mission Thrivability) were invited to attend a webinar outlining the FDF opportunity in-depth. Over forty people from twenty-plus organizations were in attendance. This webinar also featured a teaser of the course with a presentation from TFRS Director Dr. Bill Stanczykiewicz. Organizations who felt that their organization demonstrated Leadership, Willingness, Readiness, Capacity, and Culture and felt that FDF could strengthen their organization were encouraged to submit an advancement packet to be considered for participation in the six-week course.

Given TPF’s capacity, cohort #2 will also be considered a pilot offering as we continue to learn how to evolve the initiative. After robust discussion surrounding the many advancement packets we received, the following three organizations were selected to become a part of the newest FDF cohort:

Once the course is complete, the organizations will partake in a year-long consultancy with Sara Leonard, implementing their learnings into a concrete fundraising plan.

FDF Cohort #1 has begun the consulting phase, and an opportunity for a third cohort is in the works to be rolled out in late 2022–early 2023.
