The Aspirations to Actions Journey

The Aspirations to Actions Journey

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” - Chinese philosopher Lao-tzu

While there are still a lot of miles ahead of us on this magnificent journey we call Aspirations to Actions, is it possible to capture the steps logged over the past year in just 7:48 minutes? Apparently, you can!

I’d like to do a special shout-out to the 10 Public Innovators from four counties – Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte and DeSoto. Time does not allow us to show each person’s full dialogue, but because they were so outstanding, we will be posting extended versions of these interviews in the coming weeks. So, please stay tuned.

Kudos to SCOPE's John McCarthy and Mary Butler; Realize Bradenton's Johnette Isham; DeSoto County's Ashley Coone; Charlotte County's Kathy Silverberg; United Way of Manatee County's Philip Brown; United Way of Charlotte County's Carrie Blackwell-Hussey; United Sarasota's Mary Mack; Sarasota Library System's Ann Hardy, and the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading's Alicia Chalmers for revealing the heart and soul of the Aspirations to Actions experience.

My heartfelt gratitude goes to all of the teams for the work they've done over the past year. We look forward to what Year 2 will bring to this journey. As you know, it is changing lives already – and that change started with all of us.
