Manatee and Sarasota: Libraries Making Connections

Manatee and Sarasota: Libraries Making Connections

Posted on May 02, 2017 by Beth Doyle

During the Harwood Public Innovators Lab in September 2016 -- which brought together representatives from Manatee County and Sarasota County Library Systems -- we learned that they do like to get together to connect, learn, and share!

In between sessions at the 2.5-day Lab, Bill Wagy, our favorite video guru, took the opportunity to interview attendees and get their feedback on how bringing together both county library systems, as well as other departments and programs, enhances their work moving forward.

Here’s what they had to say ...

Rino Landa (Sarasota) says that by bringing together people from both systems, along with non-library people, new perspectives are discovered.

Robert Barto (Manatee) tells us the most impactful part of the Lab was the opportunity to connect with colleagues from both counties and make new friends.

Sandy Benz (Sarasota) wants to inspire young people to stay in Sarasota by listening to their thoughts and learning from Manatee.
