Ensuring Excellence: Why Exhibitor Training Matters
Posted on November 17, 2025 by Lyndsey Smith, consultant with The Patterson Foundation & Alicia Exantus, consultant with The Patterson FoundationBehind every successful community event is preparation. For the DeSoto County Ahead Resource Fair, that preparation takes shape through Exhibitor Training and Information Sessions. These sessions are more than a formality; they’re a key step in ensuring that exhibitors feel confident, connected, and ready to provide the best possible experience for attendees.
The Patterson Foundation has designed four 45-minute virtual info sessions to give exhibitors the tools they need before the fair begins. By offering flexible times, December 4 at 2:00 PM, December 5 at 9:30 AM, December 11 at 5:30 PM, and December 12 at 11:00 AM, every organization has the chance to participate without disrupting their daily operations. These sessions cover important details like registration, setup logistics, the Exhibitor Exchange, and how to engage attendees effectively.
Why does this matter? Because the Resource Fair is more than tables and brochures, it’s about creating meaningful interactions. When exhibitors come prepared, visitors feel welcomed, informed, and encouraged to engage. Training also ensures that every booth provides consistent, clear information and that the event as a whole runs smoothly.
Participation in an info session is also one of the requirements for receiving an honorarium provided to eligible nonprofits. But the true benefit goes beyond funding. These sessions help build a shared sense of purpose among exhibitors, reminding everyone that they are part of something larger: a community effort to connect people with resources and spark new opportunities.
Exhibitors who attend the sessions also gain insight into the “bigger picture” of the event, how the Resource Fair ties into community aspirations, how the Exhibitor Passport encourages deeper engagement, and how their presence contributes to momentum in DeSoto County.
As one past exhibitor shared, “The training gave us clarity and confidence. We knew exactly what to expect and how to make the most of our booth. It turned a good experience into a great one.”
Exhibitor training isn’t just about logistics; it’s about ensuring excellence. By preparing together, we create a seamless event that leaves residents inspired and organizations empowered to keep building a stronger, more connected community.
