In today’s B-1 section of the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, four headlines (above the fold no less) pertained to stories in which libraries play a role.

1. An article of the All Faith’s Food Bank Campaign Against Summer Hunger – Libraries are distribution centers for the Summer BackPack program supplying non-perishable food items to children.

2. The Suncoast Campaign for Grade-Level Reading – Allied force, partner, and stakeholder.

3. The Newtown Market Reggae Bash – The organizers of the event meet and coordinate their efforts here at the North Sarasota Library.

4. Dare we include the role of libraries as being the place where individuals are offered a place to repair their bicycle, encouraging the community to enjoy cycling as a resident of one of the Healthiest Communities In Florida.

The libraries are indeed an engaged partner, helping communities thrive!

And, through our concerted efforts, utilizing all of the tools we learned through our Harwood Training and Aspirations to Actions workshops, we will continue to B-1.
