With the typical teen logging seven hours a day and more than 50 hours a week in front of a TV, computer, or cell phone screen, it can be easy to slip into an unhealthy lifestyle. Bringing Science Home is encouraging teens to think differently about their health.
A new educational product from Bringing Science Home geared toward teens, especially those with weight challenges, includes tips for eating right and making the most of exercise and outdoor activities.
Some of the tips include:
- Paying attention to empty calories consumed through drinks
- Eating a ‘rainbow’ of foods to ensure you are getting diverse nutrients
- Creating a media curfew and setting a penalty for breaking it
