
Aging with Dignity and Independence Informs New Realities

Despite living with rheumatoid arthritis, and in her final years suffering from dementia, Dorothy Patterson insisted on living at home with as much independence as possible. To honor her, The Patterson Foundation partnered with SCOPE (Sarasota County Openly Plans for Excellence) to expand community engagement around aging with dignity and independence. The goal is to share the ways in which the aging population in Sarasota relates to the larger community. We are sharing what we learn broadly to create New Realities and be a catalyst for action.
