SCOPE is a vehicle for collaboration

Change, whether planned for and desired or brought on by some unexpected event, does not come without a degree of angst, without significant resistance and without pain. Yet, change is as inevitable as day becoming night.

More than a decade ago, a group of concerned and active Sarasota County residents determined to find ways to effect needed change came up with the idea of community collaboration.

They wanted to bring people together to have constructive conversation and arrive at strategies that would facilitate change for the better. What they came up with has become SCOPE, an organization that has been instrumental in identifying issues and bringing people together around concerns that matter to the place they call home.
